Mountain baby shower cake

This cake is a baby shower cake for a girl who lives in Colorado (hence the mountains). The bottom tier is white, the top tier is chocolate, and the mountains are made out of rice krispy treats and covered in fondant. The baby is supposed to be climbing up the mountains... I was a little concerned on how I would pull this one off, but I think it came out great - better than I expected.

Karen's shower cake

This is a snickerdoodle cake iced with cinnamon buttercream, and covered in fondant. It was for my friend Karen's baby shower, and she requested pink and brown, and she loves giraffes!

Christmas Baby Shower

This cake was for a baby shower 2 days after Christmas. The cake was based off the invitation which was very cute. The decorations on top were made out of fondant with buttercream accents.

Pretty little Birthday Cake

This was a white cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. The roses are made from buttercream, and the stems are coils of fondant. I have been wanting to do a cake like this for awhile.

Mickey Mouse Cake

This cake is two tiers of white cake with white buttercream frosting. The decorations are fondant, and Mickey is hand painted fondant. I like the balance of this cake, and it was pretty fun to do. I have been wanting to do Mickey for a long time. His face is so easy, but very easy to mess up if you paint one thing "off".

Buzz Light Year Cake

This is a white cake with vanilla buttercream. Buzz is cut out of fondant and handpainted with food coloring. I like how this cake came out, but it was kind of challenging. Kids cakes always challenge me...

Chanel Purse

This is a chocolate cake made to look like a Chanel purse. The picture is not a good one - doesn't do the cake justice :) There is a chanel lipstick, a cell phone, and a compact sticking out of the purse.

Birthday Cake

This is a white cake with white buttercream for twin 18 year old girls. I struggled with the colors and design for some reason, but it sure tasted good.

Pregnant belly cake

This cake was made for my cousin Kristi for her baby shower. Cute cake, but the belly is a bit bumpy. I will work on that next time :)

My very first cake disaster

It finally happened. I had my first cake disaster. This is a wedding cake for a couple who were so excited for thier Halloween topsy turvy wedding cake. I set it up, it looked great, and I left. Exactly 1 hour before the start of the reception, I get a call from the reception site, and am told that the cake just tipped over. I have no clue what I did wrong, but the supports clearly weren't right. The whole back side of the cake blew out. So off I went back to try and salvage what I could before the bride and groom got there. I think we (my sister helped) did a good job, and hopefully the bride wasn't too crushed. We had to cut the backside of the cake out, and I ended up putting a bucket in the back with a juice glass on top of it to support the top tier. I feel terrible about the whole thing, but live and learn I guess... The top image is of the fixed cake. The bottom image is what it was supposed to look like :)

Stegasaurus cake

This was a 3rd Birthday cake for a dinosaur fan. The cake is white cake with raspberry filling. The head is made of rice krispy treats as well as the tail and a portion of the top of the dino. In total, this cake was about 2 feet long! He is covered in fondant and hand painted.

Party Cake

This was my favorite cake of the weekend. It was for a party to celebrate a wedding :) The cake is white cake with vanilla buttercream. The bow was made out of gumpaste, and otherwise all decorations are buttercream. I thought this cake was so pretty.

Carol's Wedding Cake

This is a 4 tier fondant covered cake. Bottom tier was lemon cake with raspberry filling and lemon buttercream. Next tier up is Chocolate cake with ganache filling and chocolate buttercream. Then comes chocolate/yellow marble cake with chocolate buttercream. And finally the top tier was pumpkin cake with vanilla buttercream. Yum.

Fish Cake

Here is Austin's 5th Birthday fishing themed cake. The cake is about a foot tall, with the bottom half being chocolate, and the top half vanilla. All decorations are handpainted fondant. Fun cake to do :)

Cupcake Wedding

This is a picture of the cupcake wedding I did this past weekend. I was stressed out about how to wrap the cupcakes to make them look sleek and pretty, and I think it came out awesome. I ended up buying scrap book paper, backing it with packing tape, and individually cutting out, wrapping the cupcakes, and glue gunning (is that a verb?) them together. Kind of a lot of work, but worth it in the end. There were 4 flavors of cupcakes. Chocolate/chocolate, vanilla w/buttercream, carrot with buttercream, and chocolate with vanilla buttercream.

Hungry Caterpillar 1st Birthday Cake

This is Georgia and the twins topsy turvy birthday cake. The caterpillars and butterfly are made from gumpaste and hand painted. The cake is chocolate, white, and pumpkin. I had some transportation issues, but all in all it was a learning experience, and I'm ready to do it agian!

Maria's Wedding Cake

I like this wedding cake :) All tiers of the cake are white wedding cake with a custard and strawberry filling. The frosting is buttercream and the ribbon is made of fondant. The flowers are real orchids, and the coolest part is the cake topper which I made. They were looking for a bicycle built for two theme, so I painted a bride and groom with food coloring on a gumpaste plaque I made. The scallops and her dress are in relief. I think it all came out great.

Robot Groom's cake

This is a groom's cake I made for a wedding today (wedding cake above). This is my first standing cake ever, and the height of this cake was about 16". The legs are made of fondant covered rice krispy treats and so are the arms. The head and body are chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I really wish I had an airbrush for this cake because the silver didn't paint on very nicely. This cake is cute, but definitely not one of my best (but I did try my best). The cake was based off of a picture of a key-chain.

Amanda's Wedding Cake

This was my second wedding cake this weekend. It was white cake with raspberry filling on the top and bottom, and chocolate with raspberry filling in the middle. The cake is covered in fondant and the scrolls are hand painted. It came out very pretty.

Fire Helmet Wedding Cake

This is a cake I did this past weekend that was way way way more work that I had anticpated. I had about 15 hours into this cake to make it look as close to the helmet as I could. Lots of little details that don't really show up in the pictures.

Cool Wedding Cake

This is a picture of a wedding cake that I did this past weekend. The bride choose an awesome design, and it was one of my more challenging wedding cakes - but fun. The cake is a red velvet with buttercream frosting. I love this cake!

Thank you so much for that amazing cake!!! Sorry I didn't get to see you, but I have to tell you that it killed me to cut into that cake it was beyond beautiful! The DJ, dino. bbq and my photographer all said they have done a million weddings and they have never see such a cool cake so needless to say I had to give you e mail to lots of people hope you don't mind. Also I have about three girlfriends that are getting married in the next three years and they all want you! and it was delicious! Thank you again Danielle you are truly talented!!!

This was a little wedding cake I did for this past weekend. The bride didn't care what I did - she just wanted chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. I was not happy with size of the dots, I would definitely do smaller swiss dots next time, but I like how the cake is all white.

Grandpa's cake

This cake was made in honor of my Grandpa Thayer. It was for a picnic the day we scattered his ashes up in Raquette Lake. The fish is handpainted fondant, and the words surrounding the fish are all things that my grandpa used to say. A sentimental cake

Cow Weddin Cake

This was a fun cake to do. The couple I made this for are dairy farmers, so this was only fitting. The cow spots are made of dark chocolate ganache, and the flowers are fresh daisys.

Tropical Wedding
